I am writing to you all today to recruit for the Global Baseball Players Association. The GBPA is in it's first season, and was opened by Steve Thiele aka NealMusser. In the short time that we have been open, we have 98 players, and have accumulated over 1100 posts. We have ran through 7 sims thus far, which means we have simmed 14 weeks. The league activity is really starting to rise, and the GBPA is becoming a good and healthy atmosphere for all players.

We started the league off with six teams, which are the Colorado Pioneers, the Arkansas Moonshiners, the San Francisco Killer Ducks, the New Jersey Nightmares, the Toledo Bulldogs, and the Benton Harbor Riot. Each city and team name were chosen by their GMs, who are Mike Wilson, Chad Dorman, Brian, Tim Johnson, Nate Anderson, and Xander Busby. All of these GMs are good with OOTP, and have much experience. They all treat their players equally, and welcome new players to the league.

Our players union representative is VincentLee. VincentLee has done a fantastic job thus far, and is helping the players in their quest for more rights. VincentLee knows how to handle all situations, and has hired FordPrefect as the Deputy Union Rep., to ensure that the players union is ran properly and effectively. The players union is taking a step toward success under VincentLee, and I know that he will not stop fighting until no more fighting is needed.

For those of you who would like to check out the league website, it can be found at http://www.gbpa.cawunited.com Our webmaster is Chad Dorman, and he has done a great job at maintaing the website for me. The rules are a bit outdated, so please do not pay too much attention to them. The rules will provide a good outlook for the league itself, but they are not as detailed as the new set of rules, which should be up shortly.

The message board can be found at http://gbpa.proboards34.com/index.cgi. The message board is the league's main source for communication. The message board also contains a lot of helpful information for players considering joining the GBPA.

If you are interested in joining the GBPA, then please register on the message board. If you are registering with a AOL Account, then please e-mail me, or PM me on this message board, and I will set a temporary password for you. The reasoning behind that is the fact that Proboards and AOL do not agree, and you will not receive your password in a timely fashion. After you have registered, and received your password, create your player in the New Players forum on the message board. Inside the forum, is a thread designated for creating players. Just post all of your information in that thread, and I will create your player as fastly as I can.

SWardle, I have written a new set of league rules. I am just waiting on my webmaster to put them up. My webmaster is fairly new with Frontpage, so he is still learning the hang of it. No need to worry, as the new set of rules will be up whenever he can get them up.

We are now into the middle of August, and the season is coming to an end. This is the best time to join...Get your name into the mix, and become a superstar in the GBPA. We need a lot of pitchers, although position players are always welcome. Within the next 2 sims, players will not be allowed to sign, and will be entered into free agency, so join up while you have the chance.

Just bumping this to the top. We are now in the middle of September, so the season is almost over. After the season ends, we will hold the first ever GBPA Championship. The activity in the league is starting to drag, but I have high hopes for the league still. Next season, we have the GBPA Bank coming into play, as well as many other businesses, such as Trainers, Real Estate Agencies, Rehab Centers, etc. We will also have a Casino up and running next season, where players will be able to bet their money on real games. We still need more real players, as we want to get rid of the fictional players. To register, just sign up on the message board. If you are signing up with a AOL e-mail address, then please send me a e-mail or PM on this message board, so I can set a temp. password for you. After you have signed up, just create your player in the New Players forum.

During the off-season, we also might overgo a message board switch, and upgrade to a more powerful, organized message board. That is still in the works as of now.
