Ratings Search Hosed (v6.11)!!

I regularly use the "search by ratings" button on the Player Trade page to raid my opponents' minor leagues. I thought I found a gem catcher (9/7/8) with a 1 PB rating and a 4 arm. I proceeded to trade for him and got him for a steal!! (2 MR's and a backup 1B) Went to designate him for assignment and found out he was a 5/3/6!!! Talk about your coyote sunrise!!!

Rechecked the ratings search and found that almost one third of the ratings are way off. My scout is rated as Outstanding & Legendary (hit/pitch). Any one else have this problem???

That's one of those issues that walks the razor's edge for me. One could conceivably construe this is a deficiency in the game system, bug, or flawed data. On the other hand, I'm more inclined (particularly in areas of performance expectations and trades) to believe in ambiguous-at-best gaming. I do play with star ratings, but with a 1-5 rating scale -- but overall, the tangential aspects of the game should include doubts and uncertainties. Yes, unfortunate that you bought into what you thought was a "steal" only to find it was a "reasonable return". I'd be ready to rationalize that away as a function of portraying real life risks. Even outstanding scouts don't earn their $'s every time.
