Tourneys and seeding

I have tried out the demo, but am on the fence for a pretty simple reason.

I am wondering if the following is possible in the full game. I believe the demo is "lightened up" in the area of creating tourneys, but I could be wrong.

What I'd like to do is have a ranking of the top "x" fighters. Whether the game ranks them or I rank them doesn't really matter.

Then I'd like to create a tournament of 64-128 fighters in which all of those ranked fighters are seeded, and placed into the appropriate slots. Again, I can place them by hand if needed.

After that, I'd like the game to randomly fill in the remaining tourney slots.

That said, maybe my thinking is too limited because that's how I used to run my Avalon Hill Title Bout league when I was a kid.

If that can't be done, how does one manage a "universe" in this game?

in tournament mode, you need to fill in all the slots by hand. one way to get a random selection is to go to the auto scheduler and have the computer randomly select x amount of fighters to fight. have them all fight once. this will give all selected fighters a ranking. you can then select your tournament fighters from the ranking list in your weight division. the biggest problem you will run into with what you are looking to do is that the current tourny setup only allows for 16 fighters. you could set up, on paper, a larger sized tourny and then run the brackets, 16 fighters at a time, then take the winners and throw them into a "champion" tourny. just a couple suggestions. read up on the site further down about different universes that several of us have throw together and shared. you will find that with a little imagination, you can develop a very fun universe set to your criteria.

start here: http://www.angelfire.com/games4/cubedrum0/

Surf that page and get an idea of how he (Cube) runs his universe, also download his photopacks as a bonus while you're there. You can then come back to the main TBCB page and go to the LINKS section and get ideas from others who run their own universes. The link I gave you above is my personal favorite and the one I use, its also the most complex however. In almost any scenario... you will need some type of spreadsheet program to use as a "calendar" and you should also download some type of dice rolling program which allows you to generate random numbers. Last thing... get ahold of the people who have those websites for their "universe", most of them will be more than willing to chat with you and help you out. Send me a private message if you want my MSN or Yahoo messenger handle, and I will also be happy to give you ideas. The game has progressed quite a bit from when you and I were kids... and so have peoples ideas. The things people have come up with for running universes is (pardon the pun) out of this world! This game will never get old, and the way I run my universe I could be playing for 10 years before I am done... and thats just the heavyweights!!! Hope that helps... but I am still THEBADGUY! Just because I help doesn't mean I am not an a$$h0le... remember that. LOL.

I'm using bracketmaker.com to run my Federal Boxing Alliance (check my signature to see how the brackets there look). Very easy and free. Glad I found it.
