1957 Historical League has an opening (Yankees)
Yes, I know, I know... NOBODY who has a shred of decency would want to take the Yankees, but maybe some of you are not decent, who knows...
A few notes to weed out those who are not interested... We are currently wrapping up the 1957 season. We are historical in players (NO FICTIONAL PLAYERS). Not so much in teams (ex. Angels, Rangers, Mets, etc) or divisions (3 divisions, 4 teams per division, WC makes playoffs). When forming the league, all the current teams were created in 1901, and the league (PC) did a draft. I then simmed (PC controlling the teams) up through 1949, and all GM's had to pick their team, sight unseen (I picked the Braves back in 1901, since I grew up in Atlanta). In the start of 1950 season, all teams were set to 30 mil Broadcasting Revenue, Average Market, and Average Fan Interest, to make the league as balanced as possible. New GM's getting a team may release any players they wish with no penalty, this included 1950 when all GMs were new GMs. All new GMs (after the league begins) must have OOTP 6.10, or get another league member to do exports for them. We sim fairly quick (Mon,Wed,Fri, 2 weeks per sim, and more often during the pre-season, and post-season), but pause for the trading deadline and September playoff races. We expect all GMs to be active participants in the league, and if you can't be active, then please don't waste your time and mine. If you are interested, please check out our site, read the rules, and leave a message on the forums or AIM or email me... FORT - Online AIM: RandallSolutions

This is a fine league as I am one of MANY original owners. I have gone from a solid WS competitor for the first 5 seasons (including a WS title in 1951) to my current rebuilding status. To my credit, counting my title, 4 of the leagues 7 titles have come from my division. The owners are fine owners, although like all good leagues, we don't ALWAYS see things the same. But there is seldom any out and out bitching and disagreements are settled quickly and most importantly FAIRLY. It's a very active trading league and with the exception of a few VERY STRONG TEAMS (although they didn't start that way, they BUILT em that way), there is a good number of teams on an equal playing field. If you have AIM, that is a MAJOR plus as it is the main form of all trade talks. Come join us in a very well-run, very fun historical league.

Other than the AL Central (for reason I can not explain) openings are few and far between in FORT.
We have a high percentage of our original owners, along with a number oif great GMs who have come in over the last 8 seasons. Both Kansas City and New York are building for the future, with KC a bit closer to competeing, but NY having a star in the making (plus #1 pick coming up in the next draft it seems). We're looking for highly active GMs who would like to take on a challange, and stick around long term to see it through. If you think that could be you, then take al ook around the site, and see if you liek what you see... |

Well the Royals GM has returned, so KC is filled once again...
However, the Dodger GM is going to be stepping down at the end of the season, so LA is looking for a new GM now... |

Los Angeles has been filled for next season (and hopefully well beyond)...
New Yord is remaining... The currently have Roger Maris in the minors, and the #1 pick in the upcoming draft. Yes, they are a work in progress, but they'll allow you to build the team as you see fit... |

Yankees are still avail...
They are in a hole now, but they have the #1 minors in the league, including the #1 spect in the league (a young power hitting OFer named Maris) and are currently the odds on favorite for the #1 pick in next year's draft. |

This is a very active and solid league and has one of the best Brewers GM's I have ever heard of.
And the Yankees are looking to be a heck of a team in a few years. |
