SP taken out of rotation gets used and injured

Recently in one of the online leagues I'm a member of, two other players (both headed for the playoffs) took a couple of their star starting pitchers out of the rotation and did not insert them as relievers or anything.

Yet, for some reason, these pitchers were inserted into (Mostly) meaningless games. And they both got injured.

Is this a bug? Is there some way to fix this so it doesn't happen again?

(We updated to 6.10 before heading to the playoffs.)

There's no way that I know of to insure that a pitcher or player will not be used unless you send them to the minors(they can be used there as well). I don't know that I'd call this a bug. It would be nice to be able to designate that a player not be used.

Oh but there is!

Thanks to the wonders of 6.10, you could stick your "Do Not Play Me Ever" types into Designated For Assignment for 10 days (or an indefinite number of 10-day periods, if you move them back to the majors when their DFA clock runs out), and they won't get played.

(Ideally, this should not be allowed by the game, but it is, so go for it!

That's exactly what I was thinking, just never tried it yet to make sure it would actually work.
