No intentional walks for the whole season
I am simming the first 10 years of a fictional league to establish a history.
I just checked the league leaders at the end of regular season and saw that there were no intentional walks...all players had 0 for a total. I did a search and looked at the bug posts before posting...found no reference to this possible problem. Has anyone else seen this or reported it? This is the first season using 6.10 version. I don't normally check this stat on the league leaders page, but I have seen this category in previous years and it showed players with intentional walk totals. I did not see anyplace in the game that shows intentional walks as a stat for a pitcher...not in the Almanac either. (edited) it is shown in the box scores...However, on the team batting report, it does show a IW (intentional walk) column. In the 6.10 version season, all players have 0 for the total. I checked the Almanac for the previous season (used the previous version prior to 6.10) and saw on the team batting report that it was reported correctly. It seems Version 6.10 does not tally intentional walks...or even worst the AI might not issue them during sims. Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-21-2004 at 06:06 PM. |

Yes, I've also seen this........even when playing out games cannot recall IW being called by the AI.

)What was wrong with it was the AI used it (a) too much and (b) in fairly stupid situations. So apparently it got fixed too well. However, IMHO, given a choice between zero AI intentional walks and the ridiculously dumb IW strategy seen in 6.03, I'd take the former. (This is probably the minority opinion, I know. )

Thanks for the responses, jbmagic and jmm8356.
Markus did say it had been fixed in the update. Sorry, I overlooked it. But it still seems to be a problem. |

I've had the AI intentionally walk me in ootp6 in at least one occasion so far (and, I think there was a second time as well, but my memory is fuzzy on that one)...I'm 64 games into the season, so that's still a small frequency...especially compared to how many times I've issued intentional free passes, but, I wanted to mention that I have had it occur for me.
