Newbie Question

What is the difference between blue stars and gold stars. From what I can gather blue stars are for prospects. If I am right does this mean that 1 gold star is better than 5 blue stars?

Thanks

no....

Blue stars are prospects.. yes... But, the blue stars are based solely on talent... the gold stars are based on ratings. 1 gold star players suck.

Not necessarily. Hal Lee in 1931 historical is a 1-star gold player and I picked him up either through waivers or FA from the Phillies and he has good talent ratings that saw him increase from a 49 contact to a 67 contact in 1 year, batting at least .330 and rise to 2.5 stars as an everyday player.

LMAO.

Anyway, you can use Catobase to track players' ratings over their career. Also, gold stars take actual performance into account, as well (not just ratings).
