unable to connect to server

i get this error quite often lately
the exact error message is

error:
A connection with the server could not be established.

Everything is correct with username pw ftp info etc
any clue why this would happen no firewall windows xp.

If you are able to connect intermittantly, then you most likely need to talk to the hosting company.

Either that, or the next time it fails quickly try an FTP connect with an FTP program list WsFTP to see if you connect. If you do connect, then you know it is a problem with OOTP - my guess is that it won't connect, which would point more towards the internet/server you are connecting too.

Generally, once you connect once, you should always be able to connect.

anybody?????? does this mean my game is messed up cause i can't get a connection with the game at all now

Did you happen to recently download XP SP2? The main thing it (supposedly) improves is network security, so it doesn't let as many programs do as many network things as it used to.

ok people lol i have been doing computer networking administration for about ten years along with computer tech work, i am A+ Net + MCSE MCDP MCSA qualified LOL

with that said i pinged the ftp server and my website a few times and was like why isn't it pinging lol
so i uninstalled that piece of garbage fwall
i won't mention names (EZ ARMOR) lol
problem solved
two days of racking my head and thats all it was and i feel oh so stupid lol
but at least i can get on with my league
