Not a good decision, but it does look like he was safe...

After seeing it on replay I agree with you Dargone, but I've always been taught that you never make the first or third out at third if there is any question that you might get thrown out. For a moment there I was actually angry at him, like I wanted to beat him up .

1)He was safe
2)He shouldn't have gone, i agree
3)He has been the sox MVP arguablly,
4)without him, the sox would not have even been here. So i'll take a bad call from the umpire and continue to have manny tear it up in the postseason!

No doubt we wouldn't be here without Manny, but he's still dumb.

I dont think he is 'dumb'. If anything he is guilty of trying to make something happen. With the sox struggling in the first 6 innings of each game, the sox know this and are aware, and will try to score by being agressive.

NIXON MAKES IT 3-2!

Did it not make you a little angry though?

Looks like they're starting to put some good wood on the ball, Millar drove that one pretty good.

REVERSE THE CURSE!

Ramirez isn't dumb; he was just doing what the third base coach told him to do. On a play hit to right field, the runner has no choice but to trust his third base coach. He can't look behind him while he's running, can he?

Going from first to third is usually a decision made by the baserunner because the play is in front of him. At least that's what it's like in my experience.

Once the ball was out of the infield, the only time the play was in front of Ramirez was when the tag was applied. He spent most of the play with his back to the ball, running away from it. How would Ramirez possibly have known whether Sheffield had fielded the ball cleanly?

Seriously, watch the replay. He was waving him in. Let's put the blame where the blame is due, shall we?

I agree, it wasn't manny's fault he has to trust his coach.

I'm really wondering how many times Seuve(sp?) has to blow a call and cause an out before he himself, gets the axe!

Will be back next season you think?

Let's hope not. I don't even know where he came from to begin with.
