I would like to know what freeware or cheap shareware has the best or fastest FTP loader. I use FTP_Navigator 4.26 but it does not sort by date or for that matter sort at all...I think the speed is ok. If you use something that is fast and can sort by dates and may be free or shareware please post the Link here so I may test it out.

I use Ws_ftp and you can sort by date with it. I don't know how fast it is but I have a DSL line and it does a good job.

I've found that Bulletproof FTP runs extremely well. It has a 30 day trial period and you have to buy it after that. If you re-install it, it still knows the trial period is up but you can get around that by deleting from your registry.

Hm depends on what you're using it for, but the only windows one i use is "ftp". It's installed with windows and pretty easy to use.

Ummm, maybe I'm having a moment here... but seeing as FTP is a standard protocol whose speed should depend only on the throughput of your connection, in just what way would you client affect your transfer speeds? I mean, unless you were using an FTP client that was programmed by a doofus...

ws ftp is nice, but it continually focuses its window which makes running any other programs with it frustrating.
i've come across LeechGet recently, which couples the look of the old Leechftp program i like so much with a download manager. it does suck up a lot of RAM though.
