Hopes for Version 2

I know that version 2 is on the way and I already have my money ready. However, I thought I would post a couple of things I am still hoping to see.

1. Histories for judges, refs, and venues. Also, the ability to see who the judges are before a fight begins when random selection is utilized.

2. I would love to see a little fine tuning on the random selection feature. For example, the ability to select a country and then have a venue selected. Also, the ability to select a country and have fighters selected.

3. Stats, specifically "board game stats". We already have a nice stats package, so I know you guys are into stats. Now, I think it would be cool if we could see how the ratings themselves impacted the fight. How many times each fighter was in control, how many times each one clinched, used ring movement, 2 pt punches, 3 pt punches, counter punches, knockdown chances, foul chances, injury chances, etc, etc. Purely boardgame stats delivered in boardgame form, before they are converted to punch totals and so on. I can see a few reasons to do this.

First, It would return a little of the original board game feel to the computer game. Second, it would serve to illustrate which ratings impacted a given fight and in what way. To that end, any additional information can only serve to make the fight seem more real in our mind's eye Finally, the information might prove useful for those individuals who enjoy re-rating fighters or creating new ones. Incidentally, thanks to all of you who have taken the time to do this kind of thing, awesome work!

4. Any fighter who is currently active with a career stage at end should be rated as a retired fighter.

Hopefully, some of these might be simple enough to add, anyway I offer them up.

I'm hoping for improvement in the rankings, my heavyweight division would make the alphabets jealous. I would also like the fight graphics to be improved, ie fighter size, skin colour etc. I think that would make the game more atmospheric

Naw, man screw the graphics! This game doesn't need them, and I understand they take a lot of programming time. What this game needs is more editability.

Examples: Ability to "completely" remove a fight in such a way that it does affect records and stats. A "that didn't happen" option. (True story--the first time I fired up the game and ran the standard All-time Heavyweight Tournament, Jack Dempsey beat Rocky Marciano in the finals with one punch in the first round due to a cut, the fight lasted an incredible 12 seconds, with Rock never throwing a punch.) Similar things have happenned in my ongoing universe, usually in crucial matches like this. Like to be able to get rid of those.

Ability to vacate/award titles directly, without a fight (It happens!)

A "Tale of the Tape?" Probably have to wait for TBRP on that one.

Ability to apply the "reverse aging algorithm" individually

Random ruleset option for autoscheduler

Ability to autoschedule title bouts.

I know, I sound like a spoiled little kid writing a letter to Santa. Truth be told, the new cut and foul routines, if they work as advertised, along with some updated fighters and maybe some improved commentary, would be a worthwhile upgrade alone. Little late for a TB2 wishlist anyway, but some possibilities for TBRP.

As long as we're dreaming.....

I'd like to be able to set up a fight between any two heavies and then sit back and watch it unfold in actual film of the two fighters I picked, complete with actual voice commentary. It would be like my own private time machine. Then, after the fight, I could print out a newspaper-like report of the action and its aftermath.

Hey! Now I know what I'll do when I win the lottery!

All kidding aside, I don't see anything here that seems so outlandish. In any event, I hope you are seeing this Andreas.......as long as that happens I can live with whatever decisions you guys make.

I had an idea earlier. It'd be great to have the ability to "broadcast" fights on the net. Maybe have it connect to a website, keep the connection alive, and update the commentary as it generates it, and have the page reload every 15 seconds so people can watch the "live" fight.

wish list

Here's my three cents worth:
1. I would dearly love to be able to have guys from lower weight classes move up and challenge for titles outside their weight class -- and get the belt if they win. The lack of this feature is a real problem for those of us who run historical universes (during periods when it was common for guys to take a shot at the heavy title).
2. The ability to create sub-groups. This would allow, for example, someone to have European rankings, but also national champions.
3. Some sort of "inactive fighter" group. I utilize the career stages system, but can't retire fighters easily because they have to be set to "retired" in order to use the system and you can't set the rankings to "rank retired only," just "rank active only." So there is no way to get the retired (in my universe) guys out of the rankings. I tried moving them to a weight class I don't utilize (cruisers), but then all their title fights get listed as cruiser bouts (see wish #1).

Some kind of text to speech would be fun. Okay, so it'd use Microsoft Sam, but it'd be fun to listen to the fights.
