Unique Request

Hey guys,

Currently I am directing a play at a high school--The Invisible Man--and most of it takes place at a hotel called "The Sleepy Days Inn".

I was wondering if any of you supertalented folks would be interested in making a logo for the fictional Sleepy Days Inn to be blown up on a poster board and placed on a podium. The sign needs to be taller than it is wide and the image would need to be able to be blown up to at least 3 by 2 feet on the podium.

For some reason I see some kind of yellow and black color scheme with a sunrise/sun set and Sleepy Days Inn as a large part of the logo.

Can someone be a pal and help us out? You guys do great work!

Well, the sooner the better...but the play doesn't take place until November 12th-13th so (for once) I am actually way ahead on something in my life.

The students and I would be really excited if some of you visual artists could put something together.

Thanks

I know this is pretty bad, and most likely not what you're looking for, but thought I'd give it a try.

Hey dbacks, as President of your fan club, I must say great job!

I almost want to put on a play that takes place in the Sleepy Days Inn now.

How can I sign up for this club? That logo is sweet! I love the "Sleepy Days" Script, fantastic work. I dont think there's any point for me to put one together now. Awsome work dbacks!

No, there certainly isn't. You'll just make mine look bad.

Thanks 'shmoo. BTW, I sent you a pm at the GFBL forums a couple days ago. It's not important, so there's no rush in checking/responding.

Might you be just a little too self-critical? That logo is very nice.

It's a very clean and straightforward style, not overly fancy, and looks exactly what a hotel sign might very well look like. I think you nailed it perfectly.

As President Emeritus of the dbacks Fan Club, dbacks, only one word comes to my mind...actually three or four words...

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AND AMAZING.

To quote that famous schedule genius and now logo designer excellent, LGO, "You really nailed it".

I am also President Emeritus of LGO's Fan Club...I may be stretching the truth a little about LGO...many others have praised him prior to me.

Yes, I am. I always have been, and always will be. I'm kind of a hard person to satisfy when it comes to my own work.

However, it does look better today than it did yesterday. Maybe because I haven't just spent the last 3 hours looking at it.

Rockpile, I will be gone practically the rest of today. But if you like that, though, I will post a .zip package of that logo in different formats that can be used for print, web, etc.

Yes, a little distance can work wonders for getting a bit more objective on something that's been worked on. Easier said than done, of course.

Did I forget to reply? I did get it and put the logo up on the site as a temporary placeholder until I can get together with my partner and we can discuss the direction we want to go. Thanks for working it up. We will definitely be in touch with you!

Dude, that is awesome! My students will be so pumped. That will work perfectly for what we need it for.

My email is blakespake@yahoo.com. I'd like to credit you with the design so if you would include a name or "company" name along with the zip package I would certianly include you in the program. I could even send you a copy of the program if you wanted.

Thanks man!

I think it would be nice too for dbacks, if you can take a couple of pictures of the logo as well during the show.

Hey, thanks Cuss. I can do that!

Say, D'backs...I didnt recieve an email with the logo. I double checked my blakespake@yahoo.com email and it looks to be correct. I expect that it might be a large email and take a while to arrive, but I think it is safe to say that something has happened to it.

Thanks for your help!

Rockpile, I clicked on the addy you gave in your previous post, so if it was right, you should have gotten it.

It wasn't that big, because I didn't even send you the logo. I sent you a two parargraph message explaining that I wouldn't be able to send it to you until tonight.

Okay, I have sent you an email to that email address with the two files, and if you don't receive it by tomorrow, let me know. I will then upload them to my server so you can download them instead.
