Problem With Game Download

I have tried to download the game but when I start the ootp4setup file I get the following message:

Could not initialize installation. File size expected=13939784, size returned=11697356.

Can anybody help me with this?

This happens for every OOTP patch, sometimes I wonder how people download things off the net but I suppose many people don't download much at all, just surf or play online etc.

. There also may be some funky things related to the OOTP server due to the fact it is in Germany - I get some strange ootp-leagues.com file download errors too sometimes.

Anyway, due to IE caching, known AOL download problems, or funky server fun your download was incomplete - here are steps to get a complete download:

1. Delete the incomplete file you just downloaded.
2. On your net browser: TOOLS --> INTERNET OPTIONS --> "GENERAL" tab, choose DELETE FILES in the TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES SECTION.
3. Download the file again. If the download error comes up again repeat the process until it works. Good luck!

Problem solved.

I tried the OOTP FTP Server download and it worked fine.

This has actually been a workaround for some in the past (if you check the search forum function). If there are server/browser issues with DL's from the www ootp domain name addresses maybe the patches (and future game releases) should just be issued via the ftp address. Does IE or the AOL browser treat ftp addies different when it comes to downloads? Tech geeks, give us a bone here

It would be uber cool if this longstanding problem for many users could be avoided for future releases and patches, not sure if that is possible though.

FTP connections are always much better.
i can't say i've ever had the problems that Killebrew has had with league files on ootp-leagues or e-books here at .400, but maybe that's because i use Opera web browser to download.
