Can someone make me a league?
Greetings:
Can someone make me a small fictional league? I'm looking for: 1. 12 teams, 2 leagues. 2. Some great random small town names for the teams 3. Not to mention some great original logos I'm not so sure about the rosters part. I would like it to be a fairly younger-aged league, so payrolls start as low as possible. Also, the league can be themed if you want, but nothing crazy. Hopefully, this would be fun for someone. I know I love to make leagues myself, but I haven't been in the mood - I just want to play. And if this is too big of a request, just ignore this tread, and it will die a peaceful death. I figured I had nothing to lose by asking. Thank you, --atomheart |

I would be happy to make up logos. But, I'm guessing that the person who makes up the file would be the person to name the teams.
Perhaps instead of real towns, use TV towns. At least that would be different. Springfield Isotopes Mayberry Cicely, AK Gotham City Quahog, RI Metropolis Last edited by knuckler; 09-28-2004 at 11:54 PM. |

Isn't it part of the fun to be able to create a fictional baseball universe by yourself?

I've almost finished a 16 team fictional league with original logos and parks but the stadiums are taking me a long time. I'm trying to do all new fictional stadiums to go with the league.

How about an English league? They always have great-sounding town names:
Gravesend Orpington West Wickham Over Whopping Biggin Hill Godstone Crockenhill Snodland Downswood Grafty Green Frinsted Bobbing Canewdon Burnham On Crouch Goldhanger Silver End Greenstead Green Braintree Blackmore End Helions Bumpstead Castle Camps And all those are REAL names! Heck, just take a section of England and there's your league. Plus you'd have lots to draw on for background story. |

Some good ideas. I like the england one.
Mal, I already d/l and played the heck out of your texas league when you first released it. Great job. Again, I know the fun is creating your own league, but like I said, I just want to play. Thanks to you all.

And please post your stadiums. That would really be something...to have some new fictional stadiums. |

Britons Yeoman Longbowman Normans Saxons Executioners Beefeaters Knights Druids Doughboys (although that was U.S. soldiers, right?) Pups (ala Sopwith) Spitfire Hurricane Dreadnaught Fleet Royals Could make for some pretty cool logos. Or, you could go more along the lines of a soccer flavor: <city> United Arsenal Hotspur Rovers <city> Baseball Club (or BC) Athletic Wanderers Rangers etc. You could just modify some of their logos for your league. Or, you could go with Heraldric symbols: Or (Gold) Argent (Silver or White) Purpure (Purple) Gules (Red) Azure (Blue) Vert (Green) Sable (Black) Tenne or Tawny (Orange) Sanguine or Murray (Maroon) Embattled Chevron Cross Chief Fess Pale Canton Lion Horse Bear Boar Bull Dragon Stag Crown Tower The logos then practically makes themselves... Or, mix them. "Tonight on BBC1 - The Over Whallop Embattled take on the division leading Snodland Pups!" I'd tune in.

Great job, LivnLegend. I use almost all of Teflon's stadiums...including the Brewery.
Do you think you will ever create a series of stadiums? I wish someone would create a minor league series based on the great minor league ballparks that had special character...like Joe Engel Stadium in Chattanooga that had an incline in centerfield...Nashville's Sulphur Dell with its 260 foot right field...with a 40 foot wall which stretched over to right center. Hitters for the Nashville Vols developed a Suphur Dell Swing to lift the ball over the wall...a pop fly would be a home run...while you could hit a liner that would have been out at most of the league parks and get only a single. There were many 12-11 slugfests at the old Dell. The right field began to incline just outside of the infield, too. Atlanta's Ponce de Leon Park had magnolia trees in right center in the playing area. |

Sternfield
I re-did Sternfield. The embattlements on the shield were a little too small. Maybe a little lighter blue?
