need help with editing players

How can you edit a players rankings/attributes? I have the Orioles and Tejada and Mora both have hit .230 for three years running. That is stupid. Whoever made up their ratings didn't really know what they are doing. So is there a way I can edit a player, or something I need to download?

At the top of every player page is a button to turn on the editor. It's in the upper right-hand corner. Do it from your player ratings screen and you can then plug in the numbers that you want.

The edit button should be on the top of the player card. If it isn't that means you are in manager mode and can use the utility in the mods forum to turn that off and edit the players. FYI, just because a player has better ratings is no promise that he will hit for better average, etc players often perform differently from their ratings.

If the ratings on Tejada and Mora are fine, how do you explain 3 incredibly poor years right in the middle of their prime for players with 3 or 4 stars...unrealistic. That's why I got this game...for realism.

Since we don't know where you got the roster file, or what the ratings are, we can't respond. Remember the roster files are third party files. They are not created by OOTP nor are they supported by OOTP.

Sorry, you bought the game for the wrong reason.

OOTPB is not a "replay" game...Diamond Mine is a "replay" game...that is, historical players will perform as they did in real life or close to it.

For this reason, I discovered I enjoy fictional players more than historical players. There are no expectations about fictional players, as you know nothing about them like you do historical players, so there is no disappointment.

It disturbed me in my first historical league, when Tom Seaver was 7-22 with a 5.00 ERA...Lefty Grove was just a mediocre pitcher...and Joe DiMaggio only hit .257 in my alltime allstar league.

Now I understand that great players sometimes may be just average or mediocre in OOTPB and I have learned to accept it in my alltime allstar league.

Most of the time great players perform well in OOTPB, but not always. Be prepared for it.

I suspect that in my alltime allstar league, some greats will be great, some good, some fair and some poor. They can't all be great.
