silvernblack's New York Yankees

I'm a long way from home and have limited access to the internet, but I love OOTP and had to get my fix. I've recreated Major League Baseball with all the real teams, but the players are fictionary. I own the New York Yankees. I'm currently at the 100 game mark, sitting in 1st place in the AL East by a slim margin. I own the highest payroll but it really hasn't helped. But for right things I'm in first and thats all that matters. Website is on the link below..................

thru 130 games

Updated thru 130 games, still trail in the AL East by 1 game to the Boston Red Sox, seems some things never change. Currently riding a season high 7 game winning streak. I'm also 2 games back in the wildcard hunt. 32 games left, lets see what happens.

End of season 1, start of season 2

I haven't been able to upload, but the 2004 season came to a end. A bad end I might add, we finished to 3rd place at 79-83. Injuries and pitching troubled us. I dropped about 10 million dollars off the payroll for the 2005 season, but added a solid closer. We started our going 9-11 after a 3-7 start. Soon after the season, 5 players e-mailed me stating they plan on retiring after the season. Hopefully I can get some solid play from the pitching staff this season, thats about the only chance I have.

Welcome to 2005

Been awhile since I've managed to get a upload in. We are just past the halfway point in 2005. Not doing that well I might add, sitting 9 games back of the front running Boston Red Sox. Three Yankees made the All-Star team (Blizzard, Rodriguez and Malloy). Hopefully I can find time for more rapid uploads.

2005 season is over (thank god)

The horrible 2005 season came to end, finishing with a depressing 70-92 record. A few bright spots: 1) LF Robert Malloy (.334-34-107), 1B Alejandro Rodriquez (.253-38-110) plus the debut of Eugene Leasure. 2006 has some promise. Rodriguez, Malloy and Norman Blizzard were named to the All-Star team, it was Blizzard's 2nd selection. Two straight losing seasons hasn't helped fan support. Need a solid season in 2006..................

Started the 2006 season with high hopes. Things started sour going 2-6, but we have rebounded and sit in 1st place with a 20-10 record. 22 year old Eugene Leasure has lived up to the hype and is 6-1 with a 2.79 ERA. Norman Blizzard, a 2 time All-Star, has announced his plans to retire after the season. Hopefully things keep up...............

2006 Season

The 2006 season has been completed. Although we started out hot (33-17) , a host of injuries to the pitching us, we finished 74-88. 3rd straight losing season. Despite the losing season, we made 27 million dollars and have turned atleast a 9 million dollar profit every season. Some of the bright spots:

1) Robert Malloy (.311 avg - 47 hrs - 107 rbis)
2) Joseph Krupp (36 hrs - 106 rbis)
3) Alenjandro Rodriguez (24 hrs - 99 rbis)
4) John Calvillo (33 saves)

Malloy was the only Yankee to make the All-Star team, a second time for him. He has hit atleast 32 homers and knocked in atleast 102 runs each season. Top prospect Eugene Leasure spent nearly the whole season in the Majors, winning 11 games with a 4.96 ERA. He fanned 183 batters in just over 200 innings. A injury set his season about 20 games short.

Best,
Chris
