importing recent players as rookie in historical replay
Im running a historical replay, starting in 1901, using real players and teams, expanison and franchise moves, etc. I import real rookies and assign them to their original teams.
I'm at 1965 now, and as I get closer to the 90's, this question popped up in my head... what will happen when I start importing rookies in the mid- to late-90's. I'm pretty sure a player's talent ratings are set based on his career numbers, so how will the game react when i get close to modern times and rookies, whose careers have barely begun, will be imported into the league? Because Jimmy Rollins only has a couple years experience, will he get low talent ratings? Or will it average his yearly production and give him his talents that way? If it's the former, then that would seemingly mean that I would need to go through and edit each and every rookie from about 1995 on to make sure that each player has the proper talent ratings. I know Tiger Fan has gotten this far in a sim before, and I'm sure a few others have as well, so any input as to what I can look forward to (and prepare for) would be greatly appreciated. |

For the HOB1 with OOTP3 they were imported based on their career so far numbers. You may need to edit a few players but anyone who played at least 3 or 4 seasons should work out fine.
