Question Does AI change Primary Position?

I've searched through various threads to find an answer to the
subject question and it appears that the the AI does initiate
primary position changes --- I found in my league that the AI apparently changed Homer Bush from 2B to DH as it demoted him from the active roster to AAA --- is this a change that the AI logic could do? I thought I might have done it by accedent.

does anyone have any information on how the AI logic works for these AI primary position changes --- if in fact the AI does initiate these changes?

Also, could the AI change him back to 2B as needed per the AI logic?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I believe that the only time it makes changes to human owned teams in this way is if you run "auto-lineup" for minors or you are allowing the computer to manage the minors for you.

Thanks Steve!

I have all the teams managed by the computer. It's a great idea to have the AI make these changes --- just as a human manager may do --- it's fun to see the program making these kind of changes to try to improve the team and better utilize players ---why not make Homer Bush a DH in AAA when you have top prospects and/or better performing players for his primary position?

This is such a great game!!!

I used to play Baseball For Windows for many years --- and decided to try OOTP3 a year ago --- I'm now addicted to OOTP4 !!!

Thanks again Steve for your prompt reply!

It changed Alvaro Espinoza in one of my leagues from a SS to 3B, and actually changed Pat Tabler while I was testing my DB from 1B to LF to 3B over the course of 4 seasons...

This is a cool function that really helps when there is plethora of minor leaguers at a given position.

Of course, better/more strategic drafting on my part wouldn't hurt either.
