Manager Mode crash

Finished the 1st season of my solo fictional league. I started a manager career in the offseason and now whenever i try to sim one of my games, the game freezes and crashes. I can sim the games of other, computer-controlled teams, but the team who is controlled by a human manager on manager mode cannot have their games simmed. It also freezes when i try to go in to the manager screen. Is there a way to take manager mode off and continue on with my 2nd season?

Win XP, 2.7 mhz processor 1024 MB of RAM, everything updated

the utility works, but my problem is i dont know what is causing the game to crash in manager mode so when i turn it off i do not know what i need to edit. I tried just keeping it turned off via the utility but it still wont let me play out my games.

When i attempt to enter manager mode or play/sim a game using the team i control, the game simply freezes then crashes.
