I just bought a new computer and went through the downloading process again and just started the game. I have a DB from my universe that I was running on my old computer called "1930's DB".
I saved this database to a jump drive, and then copied it over to my new hard drive. It shows up in the right place in the Windows Explorer in the "Data" folder along with the "Default DB", "My DB", and "My DB1" files. However, when I go to options to load my "1930's DB" into the game it does not appear. "My DB" and "My DB1" are the only options available. Can anyone tell me why my old DB does not appear in the options??? Thanks! |

Any "visible" subfolder that is inside the \Data folder will appear in the "Database" drop down list on the Game Options screen.

punchdrunk, try going to the location where the '1930's DB' is on your hard drive, then right click on it and press 'Properties'. It sounds like it might be set as 'read only', if it is then change it to 'Archive' and it should work.
When you save things to disk to put on another hard drive, when you take them from the disk and onto your new computer they are usually turned into read only files, this might be your problem. I had a problem on Championship Manager 03/04 where I had to put my computer to factory settings, but I burned all my save games on disk so I could continue them after the changes back to factory conditions. After I'd done it all, the save games wouldn't load any more so I went to the folder and tried what I just said to you, and it worked fine again. |
