Opening in GDBA (Historical League)
Golden Days Baseball Association has one opening to fill. The open team is the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox have enjoyed lots of success the past few seasons when they were at the helm of the previous owner. Unfortunately he had to step down due to personal life issues. So now we're looking for an owner to fill his shoes. The Red Sox are a playoff contender for the forseeable future and can get even better with some effort. So whoever takes over the team won't need to do much rebuilding. You can check out the team by going to http://gdba.iatricsb.com/LeagueSite/team1.html
Also, feel free to check out the league site at http://gdba.iatricsb.com to read over the rules and browse anything else you're interested in. I'm going to be taking applications for a day or two before I decide on a person. If anyone is wondering, we're in the off season before the 1949 season. We haven't started any of the off season activities yet but plan to do so by Monday of next week at the latest. So it would be wise to apply for the team right now to get a feel for them before the off season starts. If you're interested in the opening, send an email to senatorweimer@hotmail.com with the following information: Name: Age: OOTP Experience: Leagues you're in: Why're you're interested in GDBA: And feel free to add anything else you want to add. Thanks for your time everyone. |

I love historical leagues. I've been in 10. They have all folded or just stopped being run by their Commish in the season I joined ...
Three things keep me out of your good-looking league: -The under-21 rule (dozens of players, including Arriba) -The OOTP3 engine (which I've never owned though I appreciate sticking with the same thing - I won't change to 6 anytime soon) -ICQ is my most hated of messengers. I've had a number for years. I can stand to have it running on my computer about 2 days a year. Sorry. Good luck though. -b

Some of the info needs to be updated,we dont use ICQ for anything and we've been using ootp5 for several seasons now.GDBA has been around for many seasons and Jeremy took over as commish three seasons ago and has done a fine job.We have a solid group of gm's that have been together for quiet sometime and while we may not have a lot of bells and whistles on the web page the league is one of the better historicals online today.

I suppose the rules page should be updated because a lot of the stuff is inaccurate on there. Basically all 3 things you mentioned no longer apply to the league. We don't have the under 21 rule anymore. We currently use OOTP5 and are switching to OOTP6 and we don't use ICQ either. Most GM's use AIM or no messenger service. I hope that hasn't discouraged more people from applying before now because I totally forgot about the rules page being out of date. I haven't updated it since I took over the league.

I just fixed the rules page. So those of you that may have read the rules and were turned away because of what the page said, I apologize. It totally slipped my mind that the rules page was very outdated and needed to be changed. So hopefully we'll receive a few more applications now.
