Looking for a good active league,,,?

Were in our first year (1990) and approaching the trade deadline. Our first year has been a good one and looks very promising for future years to come. We have a very good core of GM's who are very active via AIM and on the message boards with great insight into the statistical side of the game. If you enjoy reading articles or get into writing yourself, this would be a good league for you to join.

While our main core of GM's have been great as far as participation, I am about to start weeding out the deadwood soon. I would love to find some people that are active as far as being active in the forums. I have 4 GM's now that write short articles on the divisions that they cover to make up the L.O.B. Power Rankings from around the league, some good reading for sure.

This is my first league I have ever done, and yes I've made some mistakes along the way, but they have been minor ones, so I feel pretty good about that. I've been involved in OOTP for the last 3 years and have been a part of many leagues, some really bad, some average, and some very good ones, so I feel I do know what makes a good league and what makes a bad one.

When I conceived this league, the one thing I wanted was to make it a challenge to build a team, not easy like so may leagues are when it comes to turning around a franchise, a Good GM would be hard pressed to turn a team into a winner their first season with a bad team. Just as in real life, it will take patience and a good eye for talent, along with some saavy trading.

Were a "Talent Only" league with no salary cap, we do share equally in TV money which evens the financial playing field considerably along with a $40M cash cap. Their is no trading of draft picks, but we do have a system in place where a team will be compensated with draft picks if a team loses their top players in free agency. We also have rules concerning talent hits whereby a team can send a player to instructional league to work on regaining his old form, plus players that suffer Career ending injuries, A team may opt for career saving surgery to bring a player back after a major injury. This is very limited, so you must be smart of who and when you use this.

One final note about this league, This was something I always wanted to do and I took alot of time constructing it. I used the Lahman Database for the league file and reedited every single player in it. I used Baseball-Reference for the offensive stats and used a 3 year average on all players for accurate numbers for each player. I edited every defensive stat, from correct fielding percentages to the correct range factors. I collected this data from Baseball-Prospectus. You will see accurate stats, such as a catchers passed balls all the way to accurate HBP for batters all the way to accurate stats for wild pitches and hit batters by the pitchers. I havent seen a more in depth file than this one, I have well over 150 hours into it.

So that's it, I am looking for some good GM's as I have mentioned above to be an active member of our league, I am trying to make this the best it can be, and I can only achieve that if I have good members throughout. So please, take a look at our rules which you can find inside the Commissioners Office and if interested contact me BC Stone. The league you can find here http://lordsofbaseball.us/
