I am sorry to hear that Ankit, certainly not the response I thought...

I can understand your frustration, but realize that Markus and Steve get emails from thousands a week, whilst Shaun probably gets a hundred or so...like MArkus did back in OOTP2

Maybe an email to Andreas? or Ping or PM Steve on the boards? Steve usually answers those.

As for the DB the PB, HB and WP not really a big thing...I always check rookies out...sometimes add the new positions so utility guys can stick around longer...and just for catchers just divide their games by 162 then multiply that by passed balls.

Now that I think about it...a guy like Yogi Berra, if he is a catcher with 12 PB and he moves to left field then you change him back to catcher by clicking position....after you pass DH...C defaults to 3...odd

Maybe it wouldn't even work if you could since OOTP would default it to 3 again?

Can Ankit or someone else post an example of how the players' stats were normalized?

In the example top 10 lists provided with Ankit's Normalized DB, Dolly Gray is the ERA and WHIP leader even though he was just a little above average in real life (108 ERA+ for his career, only 1 top-10 finish in WHIP and 2 top-10 finishes in ERA). I've read that deadball pitchers are too dominant but I'm shocked to see somebody with a real-life 4.18 ERA end up with a 2.53 normalized ERA.

The top 15 list in the readme is inaccurate for pitchers. Dolly Gray is erroneously up there. Checking the pitching.csv file, I found that his ERA for each normalized season was consistently over 3.3, usually in the 4.00 to 6.00 range. Here is the newly redone leaderboards:

I can understand your frustration, but realize that Markus and Steve get emails from thousands a week, whilst Shaun probably gets a hundred or so...like MArkus did back in OOTP2 Maybe an email to Andreas? or Ping or PM Steve on the boards? Steve usually answers those. As for the DB the PB, HB and WP not really a big thing...I always check rookies out...sometimes add the new positions so utility guys can stick around longer...and just for catchers just divide their games by 162 then multiply that by passed balls. Now that I think about it...a guy like Yogi Berra, if he is a catcher with 12 PB and he moves to left field then you change him back to catcher by clicking position....after you pass DH...C defaults to 3...odd Maybe it wouldn't even work if you could since OOTP would default it to 3 again?

reslfc Minors (Single A) Join Date: Jul 2004 Posts: 57	bumping this thread... Can Ankit or someone else post an example of how the players' stats were normalized? In the example top 10 lists provided with Ankit's Normalized DB, Dolly Gray is the ERA and WHIP leader even though he was just a little above average in real life (108 ERA+ for his career, only 1 top-10 finish in WHIP and 2 top-10 finishes in ERA). I've read that deadball pitchers are too dominant but I'm shocked to see somebody with a real-life 4.18 ERA end up with a 2.53 normalized ERA.
