Missing Player

I went into the Hall of Fame tonight to look at some stats. I noticed Edd Roush was retired, but could have sworn he played in a game against me earlier tonight. I went back in the schedule about 7 days and found in the box score that he actually did play LF for the White Sox. I went back to the HOF and it listed no stats for him in the current year. Also, if you tried to click on his name from the box score, it brought up "couldn't view page". I looked at another player in the HOF and then figured "oh well" and resumed my schedule to play a game. I got to the bottom of my order in the second or 3rd inning when I noticed a different guy playing shortstop for me that I didn't recognize. It was the second retired guy I looked at in the retired players and my everyday shortstop, Luke Appling, was GONE FROM MY ROSTER!!! This retired guy is now on my roster. I did a search and Appling is no where to be found in the league!! And yeah, he was hitting .330 for me too in his second full year. What do I do to get him back???? HELPPPPP!!!!

OK...it just so happens that I backed up all my OOTP files to a cd earlier today, so I have his history saved. I'm just worried about corrupting something if I copy whatever file I need from the cd over to the file on my hard drive. I don't even care about losing any games I played since this afternoon by just copying the entire league directly and pasting it into the directory. Any advice????

OK...bad news. I just restored succesfully, but when I try to run that league, I get a run-time error and it closes the program. I feel my 2 1/2 seasons are gone completely. ugh!!

If you transferred files via CD then ALL of the files are now “read only” in their properties. Highlight all of the files, right click and select properties, UNCHECK “read-only” then save and that should solve the problem.

Well, you were right about the files being checked 'read-only', so my league is recovered...well, sort of. It put me back in my first season after 114 games, rather than in my 3rd season after 120 games. But at least it gives me a chance to win the championship after getting swept the first time through. Now I just have to make the same deals to have the team that was kicking everyone's ass.

Well, I decided to scrap the league. The program was encountering errors in the middle of things and shutting down on me. It happened clicking on the trading block and also clicking to see the box score in the middle of a game. Oh well....time to start over.
