new runtime error - v.6 and v.5

I just started getting a runtime error - abnormal program termination in v.6 and in v.5.

In v.6, when I open the game the graphics are off - text is still there, but boxes around text delineating buttons are not, windows in the game are opaque, etc. When I try to open a league, I get the crash.

In v.5, the graphics look OK, but it defaults to no league, and if I try to open one I get the crash.

What happened before the problem: I tried to open an old league with v.6. It wasn't working, and I remembered that it was a v.5 league. I then moved it to the v.5 directory and tried to open it. From that time on, everything has been a mess with both games.

I'd like to fix it all, but my immediate concern is v.6, b/c I'm an online commish in the middle of the playoffs. I was using the 6.1 patch, and I know switching to the latest patch mid-season is discouraged, so I don't want to just reinstall the whole game, b/c I assume it's 6.03.

have you tried taking the corrupted V5 league folder out of the OOTP 5 & 6 folders? a corrupted league will crash the game...

It's long gone from v.6, but v.6 is still a mess. I looked again, and it's not just the graphics. If I try to open a league, I get a total lockup. I'm just going to reinstall, if I can find an unpatched version.
