No Manual with OOTP6

I just purchased and installed OOTP6 and there in no game manual.

I have checked all the subdirectories in the Out of the Park Developments directory on my hard drive and there is no manual file or directory. I also reinstalled the game and still no manual.

Is there a link somewhere so I can download the OOTP6 game manual?

There is no official manual to the game. This occured because the person (or persons) who took the assignment to create the manual had life get in the way of that committment.

That said, this forum has served as a virtual manual. In fact, very few questions go unanswered. And mostly, they're right answers!

Don't hesitate to ask!!

Yes, use the search function to your advantage. You have your very own 580 page threaded manual at your disposal. There is a bit of fluff included.

Hi all,

I'm a new OOTP user that has been out of text simming for a while now and recently got fed up with being whooped by my 13 year old at the PS2 and X Box baseball games (!).

As far as the manual is concerned I found a link on one of the other forums here for the manual for version 5, so I downloaded and printed it ut as a reference. Is there a lot of difference between vers. 5 and 6? Hopefully most of the major stuff in the manual will still be relevant, but I was hoping someone could tell me if there were any glaring differences between the two.

Thanks!

There are some major differences. Waivers and 40-man rosters were introduced in v6, those are the most important differences IMO. Also new in v6 is the Rule 5 draft and new ratings systems. It's stuff, movement, and control for pitchers instead of the old Runs, Hits, etc. ratings. There's one pitcher duration rating instead of two. For hitters there are ratings in categories like power, eye/discipline, and contact. More "scouty" kind of rating categories in v6.
