OOTP5 crashes every time I try to load it all of a sudden

For the last couple of days every time I have tried to load OOTP5, it starts to load and then I get a Windows error and it crashes. I have been playing it for a year and a half and have never had any problem like this before.

The speciific error is:
This application has asked the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
The instruction at "0x77e7a67a" referenced memory at "0x0106410C" The memory could not be "wrtiten"

Using an athlon 1.4 Ghz with Windows XP 512 MB RAM

Thank god we switched over to OOTP6 (never thought I'd say that!)

Hope you get OOTP5 working again Mike.

Figured out the probmlem BTW. Had something to do with my BIOS no longer recognizing my HD as a s.m.a.r.t. drive (please don't ask me to explain that
