Yucatan still needs an owner with TLC...
If you like a team led by offense, this is that team... they play in the CDML's version of Coors Field... they have some solid pitching too, but they seem to have shell-shock... This was a VERY competitive team just two seasons ago, but last season they collapsed... still a good club, and with a GM who pays attention and participates, they can be dominating...(btw, if you don't like the stadium, you can pay to remodel or even build a new one) FYI, opening day is tonight at 8 PM est... we have a great group of owners, and we use BOSI, which has greatly increased trading... league has 16 teams... and in ootp5, we're using the June ammy draft, arbitration is ON, and vets refusing assignments is OFF a really fun league... we just need an excited owner who wants to participate... we have rewards in place for good owners, like a media blitz and "award rewards" for end-of-season awards - Pitcher, Batter, Rookie and Owner OTY. (we also let owners create one player occasionally... we did it once, and the owners enjoyed it... we'll do it again soon) Last edited by Matt from TN; 06-19-2003 at 10:11 AM. |

We have our first opening in over a season... Veracruz is now open... They are a very competitive team that has been after the Zona Sur pennant every season...
We're looking for a dedicated owner who likes to participate... We encourage those who participate with rewards and there are many cool/interesting programs for owners, such as Creating Players, Managers, Courting Players from a European League and much more |

It's been a while since we've had an opening, so here's your chance... there are 3 potential openings... each owner has been given to July 1 (game time) to contact me, but they have each disappeared... contact me if you want to join & I'll put you on the list... July 1 is just 4 sims away, so you should be given the team on Wed Nov 5th...
here's a list of the 3 teams... rank them in order of preference, in case one of the owners returns... Laguna Vaqueros... a VERY good team... in the heat of a pennant race... in toughest division in the LLM... Yucatan Leones... A team built on offense... the stadium used to be like Coors Field, but they remodled the stadium somewhat this season to help the pitchers (and they need it!)... Campeche Piratas... The defending Zona Este champions... bad offense, but very good pitching... kinda like this year's Dodgers... |

The Yucatan Leones are open again... Our 4th season just ended last night... The Leones finished at 59-103 and need some love... They'll be getting the #2 draft pick in the coming Ammy draft... And they will have a ton of money for free agency... They can also use that cash to buy a player from the Euro league (see constitution)... If someone signs on quickly, I'll give you the opportunity to make some contract extensions before the playoffs are over and we proceed to the next season... They have some exciting players like Juan Zavala and now 35-year-old George Garcia, who is one of the league's all-time greats... They also have some great looking prospects, including two 4.5 star prospects already in AAA...

This is the first time in quite a while that we've had an opening, and we actually have two:
Reynosa Broncos: 80-82, which was a disappointing season after they won their first division title and made it to the LLM championship series just last season. With the right moves, they could again be the favorites in a jumbled division. Campeche Piratas: 86-76, They play in a powerful division and had a strong season, although a weak finish. They won the division just two seasons ago, but fell hard in their bid to repeat last year. Free Agency starts on Monday! Get in now and help mold the team for the season! |

Free agency starts Monday... I accept bids every day (M-F) until next Wednesday 4/7... So still plenty of time to get in on offseason action...
We run a June Ammy Draft, so no worries there... You also have the opportunity now to hire/fire or even create a manager... And you are able to buy negotiating rights to a player from our sister league in Europe... |

Newly Available Team:
Tabasco Olmecas: 47-77 as of August 15th. There are 6 sims left in the regular season, so the playoffs should begin around June 21st and the offseason will start about a week later. Ammy draft expands to 5 rounds this coming offseason and this team is currently in line to pick 1st. They had back-to-back 92-win seasons just 4 years ago but have since fallen off. They are due to clear about $14 million in free agent salaries, so not counting arbitration cases, they'll be in excellent shape for free agency. In free agency, I'll be adding several new players who join the league from other latin countries or the US. Also, you can purchase one player from one of our "instructional" or "minor" leagues every offseason - primarily Europe. We're switching to ootp6 for the coming season and the game is required. Here are some of the settings we'll be using: 1-100 ratings for one season and then revote between that and 1-10 Signing Bonuses On 40-Man Roster On, which we've been using in another format for several seasons anyway Rule V Draft On... again we've used this for many seasons in our own way Minors Free Agency On Homefield Advantage On |

Season just started & Tabasco is open again:
Tabasco Olmecas: 62-100 last season. Definitely a rebuilding project for someone who wants a challenge. They're in a tough league. Good news is they have 4-6 very good or excellent prospects, but their farm system is very thin otherwise... They do have some older vets on offense that could be used as trade bait to get younger... We do the draft in June, so you have time to get in before it comes and make your own picks. |
