Cato error 52
I'm using Cato 6.1.1 and I am getting this error. It does a few quick functions and looks like it stops after extracting parks. I can't really tell, as it goes by pretty fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

Try using 6.1.2 as it fixes several issues people were having.

I tried that, but it didn't make a difference. Thanks for the suggestion though. I've used Catobase for years, but I just can't get this one to work. This is the first attemp with OOTP 6.

I don't need to generate any reports inside of OOTP anymore, correct? It's all (exports) done thru Catobase, or am I missing something?

It just quits? No error message or anything? Are the CSV files in the data directory? Are the 2 text files (ltrans.txt and lnews.txt) in there?
In your CatoBase folder, there should be 5 files that start with 'cj_' and 5 that start with 'cj6_'. Are they there? If your only using OOTP6, you only need the cj6 ones, they were included in the 6.1.1 update. |

I don't see any csv files in the data directory.
I get an error box that says "Path Not Found" and then another one that says "Error 52: Bad file name or number." These are backedup years, from right before 'proceed to next year', from OOTP5 that have been updated to version 6. Could that be the problem? Thanks again for your help and responses. |

It should work for either an OOTP5 league or and OOTP6 league imported from an OOTP5 league. Just be sure the correct OOTP is selected on the Options screen.
Are you sure the League Directory on the Input tab of the Options screen is correct? I can somewhat duplicate the error by not entering a correct League Directory. Only difference is I get a File Not Found error after the Path Not Found error. What about the 10 exporter files? Do you have 5 'cj_*.exe' and 5 'cj6_*.exe' files in the CatoBase folder? |

Yes, I have all 10 exporter files. I also believe I have the path set right. The error comes right after it says 'Exporting Parks' or something to that effect. I appreciate your help.

If there are no CSV files, then it is not finding your league. What is the path to your league directory?

I've tried a couple. C:\ootp final 1960, which is the backed up file for 1960, right before proceed to next season and c:\program files\ootp\ootp6\carrer 2004, which is the current season (1964). I'm sure I am doing something stupid, but I never had any problems with earlier versions of Catobase. I must be overlooking something. Again....thanks.

In both your examples, you don't have the .lg part of the directory. This could be the problem. Try using the folder button next to the League Directory box and select the directory that way.
If that still doesn't work, answer the following: 1. Where is CatoBase installed 2. Where is your league folder 3. Where is your Data Directory It just doesn't sound like it is finding your league. |

There are no *.csv files in the entire OOTP directory. Do these have to be generated somehow? I feel like I have missed a step somewhere.

The CSV files should be in the Data Directory you specified on the Options screen in CatoBase. CatoBase runs the (CommishJoe) exporters that generate the CSV files when you click Import Stats and have the Run Exporters option checked. These programs are located in the CatoBase App folder. They use the following format:
C:\location to CatoBase\exporter_program.exe "League Directory" "Data Directory" League Directory and Data Directory are set on the Options screen in CatoBase. The exporter programs reads the *.dat files in the League Directory and creates CSV files in the Data Directory. CatoBase then copies the ltrans.txt and lnews.txt files from the League Directory\League_News_Box folder to the Data Directory. Once all the files are in the Data Directory, it imports the data from them. Try this: 1. Make sure Run Exporter box is checked on the Input tab of the Options screen. 2. Make a note of the Data Directory 3. Click the Import Stats button. 4. If you get the error, look in the Data Directory. If there are no files in there, then it is not finding your league folder (where all the OOTP *.dat files are). If there are files there, what are they? |
