Disappearing Cash?

In one of the online leagues I run, I got an email from an owner saying that his $25 million in cash had turned into something below $20 million for no apparent reason. This was in April of our league (start of season).

I reset his cash to $25 million and I got another email from him yesterday. It is early May in the league and his cash had dropped to $17.35 million.

I suspect this is happening with a couple of other teams, but not as severely.

When we had our amateur draft, cash bonuses were turned off.

We do have a cash cap. It is $25 million.

This league was converted from V5 at the end of the previous season right before the start new season button was pressed.

Any ideas? Is this a known problem?

Thanks in advance.

The only things I know of that can cause an in-season cash drop are promotion days and releasing players.

I have the answer to all of your problems! Well, actually, I can solve this one at least.

The owner in question doesn't have the latest patch installed (6.03). In prior versions of the game, teams were charged for all of their scheduled promos each time they exported. If an owner is still using the old version of the game, then he'll still have this problem even if the commish is running 6.03.

I spoke with Bozo (I mean the owner) and he is slapping himself for downloading 6.03 ages ago, but never installing it. So thank you and we are buying your solution.

Please let me ask you another question that is related. Are promotions the only things that deplete your cash immediately?

Thanks and thanks again.

The only two things that will immediately deplete cash are promos and signing bonuses during the 1st-year player draft. Everything else is balanced out at the end of the season through "Player Expenses".
