Who should play where?

Alright, so this is a matter of opinion I suppose but I'll ask anyway.

I've got two guys that can play shortstop and second base. One is Range 5 at both, 1.000 F% at 2B and .972 at SS. The other is Range 4 .959 at 2B and Range 3 .953 at shortstop.

Would it be better for my team to go with the near-perfect 2B defense but worse SS defense, or lower the overall fielding percentage but have a higher range?

Personally, I'd go with the higher range and lower fielding %.

Agreed. I just don't want a guy with a 3 range playing shortstop for me.

I'd do the 5/1.000 guy at second and the 3/.959 guy at short.

Hopefully the increased range at second makes up for what the shortstop can't get to . . . what sort of range do your 3B and 1B have?
