Catobase 6.1.2 error with pre-sim Hall of Fame players
Looking through my CatoBase pages, I noticed that the Hall of Fame stats for players who began playing before 1901. the first year of my sim, are way off. For example, Jake Beckley played in 16417 games, with 65810 AB, 12115 H, and 753 HR. Every player who played before 1901 is off to some degree...some not much, others by a large margin
Feel free to take a look around (What If? Part 2) and see the stats. If you need any files from me, just let me know. Rick Edit: Sorry, the IP changed on me, so you won't be able to surf to that site until later tonight/tomorrow morning. Last edited by RJolley; 07-07-2004 at 05:14 PM. |

Take a look at the bat_career.csv file. Are Beckley's stats right in there? You may need to look at the players.csv file to find his PNum, then find him in the career file.

Beckley isn't in that file. He played from 1889 to 1909. The league just finished 1999.
In the game and on his CatoBase page, the stats are right. On the Hall of Fame page, the stats are all messed up for players who were around before 1901. |

I have the exact same problem with 6.1.2, but it's only with batters -- for example, my Beckley shows up as having played in 15,337 games with 61,537 ABs. However, the stats on his card are correct. I tried deleting everyone from the HOF, generating the web pages, importing the next season, and re-adding the HOFers, but it still happens. Pitchers, however are all correct.
Also, I have been having another problem -- a pitcher appeared in 1 game, allowed 3 ER, and got 0 outs, giving him an infinite ERA. When generating the web pages, I get an error about null values when it gets to his team's pitching win shares, and no one on his team has any win shares. Also, his ERA shows up as -2,059,021,974.79 |

Yeah, that's it exactly. It's only batters, and the numbers are very similar.
As for that null error...that is technically correct...you're dividing by 0.

yes, I know it's technically correct -- the problem is, once that error happens, no pitching win shares are calculated for anyone on the team...

liamdaly: Didn't mean anything by it...just kidding around. That is something that needs to be fixed.
jcato: The website is back up. If you go to the HOF page, you'll see the stats from Beckley. |
