As for Scott, the secondary is "free"... could be defense, speed, eye, avoiding K's, gap power maybe?

I think he's referring to the WWII era when a few teenagers did debut....

If you mean that they debut in the yr they turn 18, yes... until 1946 when they will debut if they're 18 before Oct 1 or wait till the next yr... however, depending on how thin the minors are during the war, I may consider bringing someone up a yr early....

Hey, I just discovered this thread, and am amazed at how engrossing it is. I've been following the career of Whiskey Allen, and G-d knows why, but I love it. Anyways, I would like to add an ancestor:

REQUIRED:
FIRST NAME Irving
LAST NAME Korr
BIRTHDATE (birth year minimum) 3/31/1930
PREFERRED POSITION 1B
ALTERNATE POSITION 3B
SPECIALTY (see below) HR Power
2ND SPECIALTY Contact
OPTIONAL:
NICKNAME: Mozart
HEIGHT: 6'1"
WEIGHT: 226
NUMBER: 17
BATS (R/L/S): S
THROWS (R/L): L

Hope this works.

That's wonderful... Whiskey was our first ancestor added and our first star.... A drunken, beligerent star, but a star nonetheless...

I don't know if I can live with the ancestor of a Yankees fan in my league... the TWB has several Yankee haters actually, I believe... he may suffer some discrimination, lol... just hope he doesn't end up on the Red Sox

FYI everyone, this is the 170th ancestor signed up in this thread!
...although I think 130 of them are metsgeek's

Oh, please no. Don't confuse me with that. I hate the Yankees more than anything in the world, man. DamnYankees, not BelovedYankees. I gladly join the ranks of those who with for a career-ending collision between A-Rod and Jeter.

63 different users signed up ancestors, not counting me... metsgeek, you actually have 23, but they stretch from 1903 to 1998, with the bulk of them currently playing... 170 ancestors minus 8 that are actually mine, so 162 really... still, a lot of ancestors & a lot of users signing up...

thanks everyone!

23!! Damn, I thought I was being conservative. Luckily, a large majority of the later generations are women, or I'd have about 50. I don't even think I've added my brothers yet...maybe I have. I'll need to go through the thread and check

Hey, so can I put in another ancestor? What year are we in, so I can pick an ancestor that will become a rookie pretty soon.

Sure, but with the war coming up things could get confusing. If you want to miss WWII you'd need an ancestor born in 1928 or later. To have him show up in the next couple years a birthdate of 1922-23 is good.
