Change Ticket Prices During Season?

Does anyone know if changing ticket prices in the middle of the season has any kind of a negative effect on anything?

I don't think so. I've raised my ticket prices in September before without any problems.

Sure - no problems as in no bugs, but your attendance could drop if you aren't careful. I've personally found varying ticket prices yield varying incomes depending upon how the team is doing.

Here is my dilema...

I am in first place by 9 games and we are at the end of May. I've been selling out every game, it's about 55,000 attendance. I have a fan interest of 82, tickets set for $8.00 and was wondering how it will effect it if I raise them to $9.00. Will they continue selling out or will my attendance take a bump?

Thanks

You can raise and lower your price at will. While attendance may change, I don't think it has any effect on your fan rating. Even if your attendance does drop, you will still bring in more money at $9/ticket as long as you draw 49,000 or more.

Well, prices dont change IRL do they? At least in my city they start and stay the same all year. I dont think it would go over too well. Obviously playoffs are more. If it doesnt efect ootp I think that is unrealistic and pretty lame, really. Shouldnt be able to raise ticket prices during the season without ramifications.

True for the most part. However, there have been cases of teams raising ticket prices for an important/popular series. On the flipside, many teams will have 2 for 1 days or discounted tickets on certain games.

Play around with it, I don't think you can make the fan's mad. If you do it for a week or so and you see your attendance drop go ahead and move it back down and you will be back where you were. It's not like real life and the fans might not come back.

Everytime that my fan interest goes up (promotion, whatever) I raise my ticket prices a dollar until they refuse the pay that amount.

I continually rasie my prices until I sell out a 30% promo game, and do not sell out non-promo games. This way I feel I get the most bang for my promo dollar. Promo dollars are wasted on a sold-out stadium ...

But I do believe raising your prices during the season ... or maybe just having high prices ... effects your fan loyalty. Winning increases it, but having high ticket prices seems to decrease the rate at which it increases.
