ISO = Isolated power

Essentially, it measures what part of SLG% is pure power, rather than average. Very useful stat.

ERC is a stat which attempts to remove pitcher performance from the team context and instead uses the raw totals to measure what kind of expected ERA a pitcher would have given his performance. Most useful individual pitcher stat OOTP has to offer.

Our soldiers volunteered, and thank God for them. I think some people have forgotten we were attacked. I guess the evidence of mass graves isn't enough also...

Monica didn't?

This will likely be closed soon if it keeps down this path, so I urge you to visit OT. I think you'll get a lot of support to your views that Iraq was somehow connected with 9/11.

Back on topic...

to add onto HR's analysis, ISO will basically tell you how empty your batting average is. For example, a singles hitter will have a high average, but a low ISO as all his hits are singles. A Bonds type guy even if he DID have a low average would have a high ISO since he rarely hits a single.

I appreciate the help. So what is a good ISO? I was looking at stats from my rookie OF, he has a batting avg. of .287 over 300 at bats. His .ISO is .190.
Looks to be very low.

That's pretty good. Not excellent, but it's pretty good. It's hard to say what a good one is. I'd say .180+ is something to strive for, although i'm not all that familiar with it... i don't look at it too much

Mark McGwire had a huge ISO IIRC (when he broke the record).
