player ratings changing too fast

I created a league using all players who were well average at best during their major league careers. The best pitcher is a 7 for advoid runs and while there are a few hitters with high HR totals or high average none of these guys are hall worthy. To make things better I changed everyone to the same age.

Now when I go to sim players go from like 5's in advoid runs and stuff to like a 1 or a 0 by the middle of a season. Is there a way to lock it so their ratings dont change or is there a way to atleast slow down this declining in stats? I mean it really would suck if everyone just became a 2 after hte first season....

any ideas or help?

i edited a few of the pitchers velocity some. i bumped it up. of the 10 pitchers i did this to about 3 of them mainted or only lost a point in raiting. the other 7 bombed.

this sucks
