Computer/version shift causes runtime error?
All right, here's my situation: I played four seasons of OOTP6 on my old computer (500 mhz/128 MB of RAM, running Win98 and OOTP 6.02A). It worked well enough, except that it crashed when I stayed too long on the Trade Players screen, a problem I attributed to the system's meager resources. (I got around it by not initiating any trades.) This is not a problem; that computer is scheduled to be formatted and sold off, and I don't care about it.
My problem is this: I copied that saved game's folder to a disk and transferred it to my brother's computer (approx. 2ghz/512 megs RAM; also running Win98; running OOTP 6.03; games initiated on this system work fine). When I try to load it, I get the following message. "RUNTIME ERROR! Program: (etc., etc.)/ootp6.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." I figure it is likely that there are files not in the league's save folder that I need to import in order to make this work. Of course, it could be another problem entirely. If the former is true, what files are they? If the latter is true, what is it? Thanks, The Otter |

If you moved the entire "xxxx.lg" directory and all its subdirectories, that's all you need. It's more likely that a league file is corrupted. Try the transfer again and cross your fingers.
