Please help this newbie!
I know I will probably idetify myself as an idiot, but I have could use some help.
I bought OOTP6 over the weekend and have been trying to familiarise myself with the game. (This is the first time I have played this product). And although I have tried just about everything I can think about, I can't manage to start a custom or standard league with current (or 2004 starting) MLB rosters. Even though I tick the box for default players, it still loads guys I have never heard of. Am I doing something wrong? I have downloaded the latest Lahman roster, and can play 2003 league, but can't find the current rosters. Any help will be appreciated. |

Look in the mods forums for MLB roster sets for 04. The game does not come with "official" rosters, as the game is not endorsed by MLB and the MLBPA.

I don't know exactly what happened to CBL's rosters, they were cool, but when I reformated my computer I forgot that I'd lose them.
Regardless, Halofan's roster sets for OOTP6 are very good. Very easy to find and use, just download them and unzip into your OOTP folder, and it'll create a largely "ready to go" league (titled Halofan.lg) with major leaguers and minor leaguers. Adjust the settings as you please, but I highly recommend if you're going to start a Manager Career, start that first - ie before you make any trades. |

If asking the same questions that we've all asked at some point or another here makes you an idiot, then I guess we're all idiots here. There are two stellar choices for 2004 rosters. Halofan's roster, as Ray already mentioned, which can be downloaded here: http://www.simleaguecentral.com/index.php And CBL v.2, which you can get here: http://www.baseballmaelstrom.com/cbl_version_2.zip Enjoy! |

Still need some help please
I have downloaded and extracted both the Halofan and the CBL version 2 databases.
I presume that I just load the leagues as if it is saved. But when I do that, I get a runtime error and the game crashes. Am I still doing something wrong? |

Unzip them (they are zipped) as .lg subdirectories to your OOTP6 folder as instructed in the readme files making sure that the option to use the original path is selected.

Did you delete the origional league that came with the game? If not, place the folders ending with .lg in the ootp 6 directory, and it should help. You are not trying to create a new league with these, you are just loading a league. At the main screen, hit continue league, and then when that league standing page comes up, select load league, and then load the league of your choice. If you have AOL IM, try me at mdxbox for the next half hour or so, and I will try to help.

They are both OOTP5 leagues so you have to import them into OOTP6 then they'll work.

Both the Halofan and CBL Cardinal roster sets linked above are OOTP6 sets.
