Catobase Archiving Question

I saw someone mention that they archive the league files each year in case they want to re-run Catobase. Since 6.1.1 doesn't use html, I assume the files that must be archived are all in the league directory. However, I haven't the first clue which ones I need to save. A little help, please?

Hopefully they were talking about the league directory. You need the .dat files to create the CSV files, which is where 90% of the data for CatoBase come from. As for what to back up, I'd say pretty much the whole directory. Here's a breakdown:

The League Directory (e.g., OOTP6\MLB.lg) - must have all files
ALMANAC - Not needed
EXPIMP - Not needed
LEAGUE_NEWS_BOX - lnews.txt and ltrans.txt needed
LEAGUE_NEWS_BOX\PLAYERS - needed if you want player histories (which you must have for draft picks)
LOGOS - needed if you want team logos on the team pages
MESSAGES - not needed
PHOTOS - needed if you want player photos on player pages

Keep in mind, though, that any of the 'not needed' could be become needed in the future.

The safest thing to do is to zip the entire league folder before proceed to the next season.

I think you might have been talking about me. I just use the in-game "Backup League" function after every postseason, putting each year into a different folder.
