I've spent far too many hours in my life playing that game.

Other games I like:

  • All the FPS games by Sierra (who just went out of business yesterday )
  • Super Play Action Football for the SNES (go Steve Pelluer!)
  • Most of the Madden games
  • NBA Jam was pretty solid too, for the SNES.

Yep, here's the link:

I'm not surprised due to Vivendi's financial problems.

Wow, the Sierra shutdown sucks. I grew up on a lot of those games.

And King Chuck, you can never spend too many hours playing Hardball III.

Very excited about Madden and NCAA 2005.

They both are adding more off the field stuff, which will make the game even better. Seems like they are adding the text stuff more and more, which I am totally for.

Especially NCAA. I already preordered (two more weeks).

GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hail to the Victors!

Sierra has been going down for years, not a surprise.

Okay, here is my list.

Baseball:
Micro League Baseball w/ GM Disk (C-64)
Ken Griffey Jr. (SNES)
Front Page Sports '98 (PC)
MVP Baseball 2004 (PS2)
Bases Loaded (NES)
Little League Baseball (NES)

Football:
NCAA Football 2004
NFL Challenge (IBM)
Gamestar Football (1st person gameplay for C-64)
Madden 2000 (PS)
Madden 2004 (PS2)

Hockey:
NHL '95 (SNES)

Basketball:
NBA Jams (SNES)

Soccer:
MILS Soccer (C-64)

Futuristic:
Speedball (C-64)

Speedball was awesome. Based in the future, and played a little like soccer or basketball: Except violence was strongly encouraged. You could kill a player from the other team, by tackling them repeatedly. There were power-ups during the game that allowed you to use the ball as a weapon, freeze the other team, make them go the opposite way they wish to go. There was money too. You'd collect coins during the season, this allowed you to power up your team's abilities, pay off the scorekeeper to start you off with one point, payoff the ref to play a shortened game, all sorts of things.

Okay, I can't remember the name of my favorite sports game of all-time but I figure you guys might know what I am talking about. There was an arcade game that featured robotic football players, sometimes the guys would blow up if they were hit hard and you had to replace them, it was just a cool, fun concept.

I gotta agree with a few of the other posters. NCAA Football is the best of the best.

They had a similar baseball game for the NES called Base Wars which was a bunch of fun.

Right now I'm playing Starter's Orders for the PC. It's a Horse Racing sim that covers the British racing circuit.

I pumped many a quarter into Cyberball, and loved every second of it.

I don't like video games.

My brother used to play that stupid hockey game where they would fight like every 2 seconds. I kicked him in the junk.
