The old contract extension bug is back
Been playing with 6.01 with no problems. Just downloaded .02a and installed.
Simmed a few weeks into the season (a preexisting season) and offered a contract to a player. He requested a certain amount and years. I offered him the exact amount and he replied "that is not enough". Falling back to my experiences with this in OOTP5 (before the last patch) I raised the offer by $10k and he accepted. Should be pretty easy to fix this as it's already been coded before. Thanks.

Duplicated this problem under a slightly different circumstance using 6.02a - offered a free agent on the waiver exactly what he was asking for (680,000 / 1 year) and he declined.
Offering 680,010 got him to accept. |

I have it happening about 90% or more of the time whenever using in-season free agency. The amount the player requested is not enough. Give him $1 more and he is happy to sign.
This is stupid. <Editorial Comment> |

Equation in program probably says "If [offer] > [request]" instead of "If [offer] > or = [request]". Been reported.

Not to sound over-critical, but who's minding the shop?
Another patch, another idiotic bug still not fixed. I would say I cannot believe this, but I can. I would say I'm surprised, but I'm not. This is a stupid silly bug that would be easy to fix. However, it is obvious there is no organization within the organization that allows these things to be tracked and fixed. I know I speak for myself only, but much more of this and I will stop running leagues and spend my time in more useful pursuits. Who will join in my crusade, Who will be strong and stand with me? |

Has anyone seen this using the latest patch as this thread was started referring to patch 6.01. I've run several short and limited tests offering only the asking amount during FA and had ZERO turndowns. If you have seen this problem w/ version 6.03 let me know.

I saw it with 6.03 2 minutes before I posted it. Or does my seeing it not count? (That was a rhetorical question).

Also seeing this not only with in-season free agency, but also regular old in-season contract extensions, also with 6.03.

No, that counts but my guess is that is has to be a very difficult issue to correct for some reason as Markus has known about it and attempted to correct it several times. All I can figure is that there are instances where it shows up that he has not located yet. I'll bring it to his attention again, can anyone give any maybe unique details to add in their experience with it so that it might be more effectively addressed?

First of all, Markus claimed to have fixed this in 6.03.
Yes, the fact you saw it counts, but this is one I've looked for in the new patch and after looking at the equivalent of maybe 80 players so far, have not been able to reproduce the problem. Until we can, we can't do much... |

And perhaps this is the reason you haven't been able to see the problem. Maybe you got the limited edition working version of OOTP6 while the rest of us got the common and buggy version. You are one lucky guy to get the working version. You've earned it.
