How do they do it?

How is it that there are so many people who are in like 6 or 7 leagues yet I can't get into one? and I've been toprobably 25-30 sites (plus many more than once) over the last week or so alone.

Did they all just sign up for waiting lists or are things just alot crazier now that it's summer time?

The thing that really depresses me though is that I see a bunch of them still getting into new leagues while I'm playing my through yet another season alone

Really though is there some method that gets people to pick you for their leagues over others? or do these people just know everyone?

BTW I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if things have really picked up during summer or if there's some place I don't know about where everyone posts about their leagues mostly.

you haven't tried to get into the 852BL or the 852ncaa

email
commish@852bl.ootp-leagues.com

we have plenty of openings for our college league.

coaching in our college league gets you into our pro league faster than sitting on our waiting list.

Leagues are posting with openings daily and its pretty easy to get into an online league. Finding the exact type you want and getting in may be tough, but are toms of leagues looking for owners.

You know, I've been wondering the same thing. My guess is that this hidden mysterious place that I have been endlessly searching for might be right under my nose.

well at 1st I had only a slim range of leagues I wanted but now I only have a few,

1.It's later than the 30s

2.It's pro baseball with pro type rules, trades and playoffs and all that.

3.A web site I can read (it doesn't even have to be good) since I'm color blind and can't see alot of the one with certain backrounds and letters.

Other than that I really am pretty open, I have pretty much no preferance if they have real players or not it only changes slightly depending on what mood I'm in but I'd take either one.

In a perfect world I'd also prefer to start near the begining of a season (or the very end of one) though I really don't care.

Also I'd prefer something from the 90s on but I'd take mostly anything.

However the ones I find with opening either end up that no one uses them any more or that they've really been filled be 10th on a waiting list if I want.

I think it's just some people here live on the board refreshing ever couple minutes and they see an e-mail the second it's posted, especially with school being out for kids.

I assume you missed the part where I said a place I DIDDN'T know about, don't worry about it though. You see alot of places have fan sites that are more popular than the games actual site and therefor have more people on the forums.

Theres constandtly opening for the type of league you described. The spots for new league posting usually last at least a couple of days at least unless it is being run by a very well established vet and then it will tend to fill faster.

If you say so but considering that this page only moves a page every few days they can't all be posting here, and I assure you I've been to every leauges site and signed up at alot of them.

Really though my question is have things gotten real crazy since summer, and open spots have been going in a day instead of a couple like they used to.

For example I got an e-mail today that said they filled up 6 open teams in a day after posting here, so I think maybe the amount of people has sky rocketed recently.

EDIT:
Oh yeah I've also gone back quite a few pages on this forum to see if any existing leagues had opening they didn't post aobut recently.

Thanks anyway though and I'm not trying to be srcastic or any thing I appreciate your trying to help but trust me I've checked.

Really all I wanted was to see if there was some big site (besides OOTPlinks.com) that listed a bunch of leagues, or if someone would maybe say they had an opening in a league.

EDIT:Oh yeah and it's not that I haven't looked I said I've been to 20-30 sites and I've signed up but I often get no response or they say they are full. It's not I can't find one I just can't find one that has opening.

my league is in the 2006/2007 offseason (numerous links to it in my signature) Assuming you can read the page, I think it fits the requirements... kind of. The league IS full, but we have a college league that has teams open. When a team in the majors opens up, we promote an owner from the college league. Really, the college league is a VERY simplified online league, but it acts as a waiting list where you can actually have some fun instead of just wait.

The league I am in currently has an opening and we are in the last month of the regular season. We are also looking to expand. If you are interested Click here . Then go to the discussion forum and sign up. If you hurry you can be one of the first to have a shot at our openings. We dont do a lot of recruiting since many of our owners stay. Also you can email me at drewitz69@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

There is openings in leagues all over the place. If they are not posting a message saying "We want owners" it is still cool to just browse this forum and check out some of the sites people have in their sigs. There is a lot of good leagues that are not listed on the OOTP server.

Cheers, Maddux

Sometimes very popular leagues don't advertise anywhere, since they will have a up to date list of players that want in. IMO it is worth applying at a league you respect and waiting these lists out. You can always say no if you end up joining several other leagues while waiting. In some cases the way they replace GM's is to get the 1st waiting list person who replies, so even if you are at the bottom of the list you can sometimes move up quickly.

I like leagues that have some history & stability to them, but it is also nice getting on the ground floor with a brand new league and helping to mold the league as it grows and prospers. Either way good luck & hope you get into some good leagues. Remember that some leagues don't last forever! The best leagues usually have the best Commishes - they are a key to success IMO, and you can get an idea what the Commish is like just by emailing them when you apply for the league waiting list.
