I'm in control of the 93 Phillies, I'm in my second year and we have just had 16 game winning streak!
Just wondering whats the best your team has had? |

I'm originally from Philly and watching game 6 of the Series was one of the worst moments in city history. Mitch Williams received death threats from people for weeks after which led him to not return to the team and eventually out of baseball. |

Yo Vezna, Im from Philly too, and god that was a painful moment. I remember a little of that, but it seems more people realized it wasnt really his fault, as he had lost alot of velocity and hadnt been pitching good for a while. Really more peeps blamed Fregosi for putting him in when we had 2 other guys who were hot at that time. I think it was Rodger Mason and, I cant remember the other name, but Fregosi blew that one. Mitch still lives in the area and runs a couple businesses, and is actually a pretty popular charactor these days. Seems all is forgiven with him, but not %^$@!# Fregosi!

Yes...He lost all his velocity. Roger Mason was having a great series and should have been kept in the game. I remember Fregosi saying that he "went with what got them there". Unfortunately, it didn't work. The last I heard about Williams was in 2001 that he was pitching for Atlantic City (maybe an A-ball club or an independent). I know he went to Houston for a while after the series to get out of town until the threats died down.
