Adult Baseball League Needs Logo
Myself and several others are planning on setting up a hardball league for next summer. A legitimate league, not just a sandlot league among 15 friends who just wanna goof off a little during the weekends, this would be a competitive league with umpires and player registration fees to cover the costs of baseballs, umps, etc etc.
Anyways, as we get ready to just organize our thoughts and put a skeleton website together, we need a logo. We're leaning towards calling it the "Southbridge Hardball Association". However, if you come up with a better idea for a name, give it a shot. It'd be an adult league for men to play good old baseball. The logo could be whatever color(s) you like but the town colors are red and white. We're in central Massachusetts and the local high school's mascot is a Pioneer. If any of this last paragraph gives you any ideas, feel free to go with it. If you have any questions or ideas email me at RSBullpen@aol.com. Thanks

I like it, although I don't quite get the connection with the images on the diamond. Looks like something for Texas or Oklahoma rather than Massachusetts.
But other than that it looks very good to me.

dbacks, you are a good enough friend, so I will offer my unasked for advice, again.
Try making Southbridge lettering all in red...the white lettering causes it loose a little effectiveness...doesn't stand out as well. The blue and yellow emblem should be moved down and to the left a little and not be placed over the state. And finally, change the blue and yellow to something that goes better with the red, black and tan colors...maybe black and white...or red, black and white. Since the requester is happy with the logo and didn't request any others changes, just ignore my suggestions, if you like. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-01-2004 at 02:12 PM. |

First of all, let me say, you made a fine logo...forgot to say that in the last post.
dbacks, it is good for you to make the changes. I know you appreciate constructive suggestions. "Beauty is the eye of the beholder". IMO the lettering is better and the placement of the emblem is better. What do you think? What do others think? Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-01-2004 at 03:32 PM. |

Honestly, I'm not sure which is better. That's up to everyone else to decide.
![]() I didn't want to change the color of the emblem, for two reasons: a) I tinkered a little bit, and didn't think it looked very good b) since it's the emblem on the flag of Massachusetts, I wanted to leave it "as is." But most of the time, I'm pretty open to suggestions, since, in the end, it's not even for myself. Whatever makes the requestor happy... So with that said, TINH, let me know if you want anything changed. |

Okay, one last one. Very similar, but I combined the two. Kept part of the text white, while altering the postion of the state and emblem.

I like the two-color font myself. Pretty nifty.

I yield to the experts.
If dbacks and Treches like the original, that is good enough for me. Sorry to put you to all that trouble, dbacks. And I agree, since that is the color of the state's emblem, it should stay that way. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-01-2004 at 04:39 PM. |

I like the updated versions, in particular the one with the solid red text for southbridge rather than the red and white.
My only other idea was a rip off of the MLB logo of the red and blue with the white ball player in the middle of it. Except maybe a pitcher instead of a hitter?

Here's my attempt at a more "contemporary" logo :-)
