Pinch runner bug???

I'm playing the 2004 as the Red Sox. On three separate occasions, I have attempted to send in a pinch runner for Designated Hitter David Ortiz in late game situations. The pinch runner is inserted to the lineup in the screen where you change lineups, but in the game, David Ortiz is still the runner. It only seems to happen when pich runner for a DH.

I was going to add this exact same comment as well. I've also noticed that even though you pinch run for the DH, the DH stays on the bases.

Per Rule 6.10, "A runner may be substituted for the Designated Hitter and the runner assumes the role of Designated Hitter."

Can this "bug" be fixed, please?

Thanks!

Any word if this bug has been recognized by the development team and if it can get fixed for the 2nd patch. We need the skinny fast guys to run for the big slow power guys in the late innings!!

We really won't know ANYTHING about the patch till Markus sends it to the test team for us to test, sorry. Also, we don't know when that will be.

This bug is something that only affects the DH I'm guessing. This also happens when I try to pinch hit for the DH. The former DH will remain and then be subbed out after the at bat. It is the same when trying to pinch hit. The DH will remain until the next batter and then sub out.

The DH bug is something that has already been reported, however.

Follow-up to pinch-hitting/pinch-running for DH

Folks,

Does anybody know if the new patch (6.02a) solved this problem? Seems to be the only bug that I have.
What a GREAT game notwithstanding.

Thanks,

Walt

OOTP6 will not be released until it is fully tested and ready? HA HA, what a joke.

Hm... sigh...

Well, yes. This bug should've been caught before OOTP6 was released. But we're all human, right?

The fact, however, that this bug has not made its way into Markus's "bug fix" list after all the clamor I've seen on this board is extremely hard to comprehend.

DH substitution has never been right. In OOTP 5 you could pinch hit/pinch run for the DH fine, but if you had to move your DH into the field for some reason, it didn't force your pitcher to bat. You just swapped with another player.

Now I don't know what's going on.

- Replacing the DH with a player from the bench is fine - the replacement becomes the DH
- Moving the DH into the field is fine - but you lose the DH position and the pitcher has to bat instead

As far as I know, the DH rule is as simple as that. Hopefully the current code won't be too hard to fix to allow us to do that.

PLEASE PLEASE fix it for 6.02b.
