Is Montreal this year's Detroit?

It is early yet, but it's starting to look like it.

It's not exactly the same. At least the Expos are still waiting for players to return from injury. The Tigers never had hope.

I'm still thinking the Expos have a shot at finishing above the Mets, if they play their cards right. I mean, I'm a Mets fan, but they really suck.

If we go back to 2 months ago, we thought the Expos' offense would be an asset, and their pitching was a serious concern.

They've scored more than league average runs per game what, twice or three times so far this season?

unfortunately my hometown Kansas City Royals are the worst and they were predicted to win their division.

However Greinke looks good. Wish he would develope in my OOTP league but oh well.

A few teams have baffled me with their poor performance. I didn't think Seattle would be so horrible, and I thought the Giants would jump out to an early lead. I knew Arizona would drop off, but I didn't realize how much. I didn't expect the Dodgers to get such a strong start. I didn't think the NL Central would be so strong. I thought the Mets would be worse.

I think the best race is shaping up to be, not surprisingly, Boston and the Yankees.

What's funny is that I read that as "Is Detroit this year's Montreal?"

I'm starting to wonder if the teams just switched places this offseason. That would explain why Jose Vidro looks dangerously like Damion Easley this season.

Montreal has a hell of a lot better excuse for sucking this year than anyone else. The most brutal travel schedule in the big leagues, not one but two lousy homefields, and a management that's not allowed to make any moves without checking to see if they're OK with their competitors are just a few of the handicaps that make me think it would be something of a miracle if they win more than 60 games. Detroit, on the other hand, has absolutely no excuse for the AAA team they put on the field last season. They're a large market with a wealthy owner and a new stadium in a weak division. It's nice to see they actually made an effort to field a good team this season.

I predict that Ichiro will not hit 64 homeruns or more this year.
