I'm told this is the Lovell who fought in the Olympics back in the 30s. I once heard a story he was killed in an uprising against the fascist government in Argentina. Don't know if it is true.

My informant was obviously mistaken, as this pic is very caucasian looking. Two blurred images I've seen elsewhere of Lovell depict someone with somewhat negroid features.

I wouldn't doubt that he put himself in harms way like that. I read something about him having led a revolt of his fellow olympic teammates against the airline they were taking home due to the poor food. It was said the Argentinians did their best boxing on the plane. And even though he won the gold medal, he wasn't met with celebration but by security to take him away. I might be missing a fact or two, but that is basically how it went.

I am only on the B's but when I get done with them all I will send the file to cornerwork ... It is very slow going because it doesn't pull any up as duplicates so I have to go one by one
