trading a player for a pick
I am a commish and I was wondering if anyone had steps for doing this? I would think that you:
1. Release the player 2. Sign him with the new team 3. Adjusting cash (And this is the area Im not 100% sure of. Cash comes out of the team that released him and its listed as an expense under player expenses for that team when it really shouldnt because its a trade and the new team is accepting the players contract. How do I get the cash back in? Do you simply add the expenses back to cash? This isnt accurate because you shouldnt have more RIGHT NOW cash. |

create a generic minor league player, put him on the team giving up the pick. trade the player for the generic player. release generic player.
no need to deal with cash when you do it this way. |

You can use Pierre's Draft Utility to customize the draft order and give any team multiple picks in any round.
