waiving players

my quick search didn't turn up anything quite hitting on this topic:

i have a veteran pitcher who i want to send to the minors. when i try to do this, i am told he must clear waivers first. i put him on waivers on 6/3. i checked the waiver wire on 6/5 to see if anyone had made a claim (which i doubted they would, since he's expensive). the pitcher is not on the waiver wire. i go to my transactions page. he is on my 25-man roster, and no longer in the waivers field. i wonder if perhaps 6/3 to 6/5 counts as three days and he has cleared waivers, so i try to demote him to AAA. i get a message stating he must clear waivers first. deja vu...

what's going on here? this is the first player i've tried putting on waivers so i don't know what usually happens. i assume i would get some notice if another team claimed him. i assume i should get some notice if he cleared waivers. i don't know what it means to find him removed from the waiver wire and I have no clue as to what has happened.

I'm not sure exactly what happened here, but when a player clears, on your transaction screen you should see the player in the waiver field with CLEARED next to his name. You then can drag the player onto your AAA system (and you may have to release him if he refuses the assignment).

I had the same type of thing happen. For some reason, the program didn't hold the player in the waiver box the first time. The second time I put him in, he stayed in and cleared waivers. I was then able to send him down. I decided that I just needed to check after I put someone on waivers to make sure they stayed there.

Well I tried waiving him again, and I guess this time it held. He even got claimed that day - i was shocked. I guess he;ll be leaving after my next game, since I'll just let him go.

thanks for the response. just add to the list of waivers tweaks that need to be made, i guess.
