A quick update on FLASH:
We filled VERY nicely the past few days with fellow owners recommending people into the league, and we have quite a group at the moment, with a great blend of OOTP newbies and vets. The last available teams are: California Angels The Angels went 76-86 in the 1976 season. Right Fielder Bobby Bonds missed 60 games last season, and he is looking to bounce back with his usual 30 homer, 90 RBI season. At just 31 years old, Bonds has 228 homeruns, and would love to hit #300 under a stylish coach such as yourself. Also on the Angels team is young superstar Frank Tanana. At just 23 years young, Tanana is a blossoming 5 star southpaw, and if he lives a healthy career, the Hall of Fame could be knocking on his door. Atlanta Braves Atlanta had a rough 1976 season, finishing in the NL West cellar at 70-92. The Braves are a great rebuilding team, as their best player Phil Niekro is nearing the end of his career, at 38 years old (unless he decides to mock real life and play 10 more years). If you want a chance to rebuild a team, this is your opportunity. Houston Astros The Astros finished a game under .500 in 1976, at 80-82. Ownership knows that with the right management (you), this team can perform well. Ken Forsch, the team's #1 pitcher, is an intriguing player. Forsch was forced into the closer spot last season, and accumulated a line of 4-3 with 19 saves and a 2.15 ERA. Forsch knows he has what it takes to be a starter, and so do you. This team's staff is also loaded with J.R. Richard (20 game winner last year, 27 years old), with Joe Niekro, Floyd Bannister, and Joaquin Andujar rounding out the rotation. Minnesota Twins The Twins are one of the better teams available, going 85-77 in 1976, just 5 games behind the division leading Royals. Signing a contract with this team is a smart option, as Rod Carew will greet you with your very own hitting session! Carew is just 31, and has many years of greatness left in him. San Diego Padres The Padres had a dismal 1976 season, going 73-89. Another team to rebuild, the Padres have an intriguing team, led by 25 year old Dave Winfield. Winfield boasts outstanding power ratings and a high "avoid strikeouts" rating; deadly mix. If you sign up with the Padres, sweating in the 9th inning will be a thing of the past with Rollie Fingers closing out games. Fingers is just 30 years old, and last year put up a remarkable 13 win, 20 save season to go along with his outstanding 2.47 ERA. Any of these teams can be yours! All you need to do is send me an email over at akrobat@mlb-history.com. I will sit at my computer until I get owners for every single team! I won't even go to the bathroom! So please save me before my bladder explodes and take a chance with FLASH. Last edited by Akrobat; 05-12-2004 at 03:07 PM. |

<----Probably the last FLOG left to chime in
![]() I'd just like to totally reccomend any league run by Albert. If I hadn't got myself overcommitted, I'd be knocking down the door, nay, shattering it even! |

The Angels were filled, but unfortunately the Tigers just opened up. We have a great league going, and our first sim will be Monday. If you would like to join in on what will be a top notch league, then hop on board.
I am also pleased to announce veteran GM Bill Howard is now my assistant commissioner, and will also not own a team. He is in some big leagues such as Play Ball!, and with him on board we'll be an even better league, as he'll help me make decisions for the league. If interested in the Tigers just shoot me an email at akrobat@mlb-history.com Unfortunately you will miss out on the great crop of Trammell/Parrish/Morris/Whitaker as they do not import until 78, but maybe you can lead the team in a new direction with different stars. |
